Konami have recently launched a
new website dedicated to Metal Gear Solid 3.
On this website you can have a look at impressive screenshots and interesting information on this new Hideo Kojima game. In 1987 Konami released the very first version of Metal Gear on the MSX Computer system. In 1990 Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake was released on MSX as well. Both Snatcher and SD-Snatcher were Hideo Kojima games as well.
After releasing Metal Gear Solid on Sony Playstation (PSX) and Metal Gear Solid 2 on
Sony Playstation 2, which both contained quite some elements of the original MSX games, this new part of the Metal Gear Saga goes back in time. In a small trailer we
reported about earlier, we could already see our hero Solid Snake actually eating a snake and heading for the jungle. It goes to show the entire game is situated in this jungle, during the early sixties. A time in which the cold war was still a big daily issue.
On one of the biggest gaming-expositions of the world,
E3, Konami impressed many people by showing a 12-minute trailer of Metal Gear Solid 3. Today, this trailer was added to the
official MGS3 website.
This new Metal Gear game adds many new possibilities like camouflage. MGS3 also proves the
Playstation 2 is capable of showing a lot of impressive visual effects. However, the concept of the game stays the same: make sure you do not get seen by too many people, and eliminate those who do spot you.
