I'd like to buy these two PSOne games on the Japanese Playstation Store (it's less than 4 Euro for each game and I have a prepaid card for that store). Basically it's a collection of (very) old MSX games that can be played on the PS3 and the PSP.
Yeah, I know that on the Japanese PSN there's also Metal Gear Solid... but I prefer to wait for the european or the north american version

Are they any good ?

They are quite nice. If I remember well, they even have some SCC versions of games like Gradius and such.

Indeed. And while you're at it, get Vol. 3 as well

If you have a Saturn then get that version instead. It's cheaper and it includes every game from vol. 1, 2, 3.

I've bought them from the Japanese Playstation Store for less than 6 euro, so I'm actually playing them on my Sony PS3 and my PSP. It's quite easy to buy games from there when you have a prepaid card

Sorry for my bad englisch, its really a pain for me talking about my opinion in this language;
(In germany / saarland we learn only french in school, its videogame englisch only ^-^)

This collection was my first contact with MSX Games and it was just like;

Gradius 1 - OMG, what a shit
Salamander, OMG what a shit
... etc...

collection out (of my saturn), sold on ebay...

Asking in a mainstream Forum about MSX results only prases like
"Shitty scrolling, pain in the ass playing etc..."

So i had to sell me first MSX i bought for a few bucks, the Metal Gear 5 Release was my reason to give the system a second try, i looked around where the series started and voila; MSX..
-> i downloaded BlueMSX because i had a really bad feeling about buying another system "blind" and two such expensive games. These two games have startet something in me called "hype" ^_^
I found Space Manbow, Aleste & Zanac videos and after recieving my first MSX Game (omg huge & beautifull) my heart as a collector was taken over.

Playing these games on original hardware is sooooooo much more fun then in a collection, and so i bought my gradius II a few days ago

Why the Hell did Konami not include all the really good Konami games like SM, MG, MGS ? To make money on selling them with a PS2 game ?

Yeah, what's it with people always complaining about the scrolling of sideview MSX games?

YES, it goes with 8 pixels at a time; back in the early '80's, home computers didn't roll from the factories equipped with 64-bit 3D graphic cards.
Computer game technology has come a long way.

Annoys the hell out of me, I must say.
"Stupid bike, why doesn't it have a fuel tank?"

And WHY don't they teach Dutch at German schools?

Probably because the jerky scrolling just sticked out like a sore thumb, even in those days where basically all MSX' competitors could scroll better.
That said, I still think the MSX versions of the Nemesis/Salamander games are among the best. I personally feel that Salamander on MSX even beats the arcade version in playability and sound, despite the jerky scrolling.

It was probably hard to do MSX2 on the PS1 and Saturn using emulation (which is what the Antiques collections use)
The games scroll slightly worse than the MSX itself even, so perhaps it was not the best way to get introduced to MSX (emulation is fairly good considering the time it was released and the fact it's running on a PS1, but a bit outdated by today's standards)

As for the money making,

mg1 and 2 remakes are included with mgs3 subsistence

A 1 level version of Space Manbow can be unlocked with 2 Goemon games on the DS (a GBA and a DS one)

Nemesis 2/Gradius 2 and Parodius got released in Konami's PSP shooter packs (salamander collection and parodius collection afaik) with updated graphics.
