Problem MSX1 games on Turbo R

As I'm new to the world of Turbo R, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or there are MSX1 games that just 'don't work' on Turbo R.

I've tried quite a few, and only about half of them actually ran ok on my ST.

A few examples: Auf Monty (one of my all time favourite Speccy games), Boulder Dash, Bounder etc

Is there a way to get 'problem' games to run on this machine, or do I need to keep swapping to my MSX2?

Probably this is related to bad handling of the expanded slots. What MSX2 machine do you have?

Check if the game loader has some kind of POKE-1,xxx command.

Please note that this problem is not specific to the Turbo-R. It usually happens with a lot of old european software when run on a japanese MSX>=2 machine.

Try loadcasx, it will let you play nearly every MSX1 game on Turbo R. I'm not sure if the site where to download it is against the MRC policy, but look for "Preservación de cintas MSX" in the Google and you'll find the software.

It also depends how you try to run those games. Back in the days I got disk versions of those games and they all work on MSX2 and turboR.

Yes. i have got a problem too with MSX 1 games in my TR

My TR goes to PAUSE - mode when i try to load few games.. some games work fine but some hangs that pause mode.

My TR is great machine but those games are probably broken somehow i think.

i do not have a solution of this Pause mode --

Join the MSX BRASIL group on facebook. Even there we have msx1 game files adapted to run in msx2 / 2 + / TR.
