nice done!
PiterPunk: looks like that the ROM/RAM-to-slot mapping is identical to the one of the Panasonic FS-A1FX for example, at least for slots 0-0 to 3-2! That can't be a coincidence!
I created an openMSX config for it (but slot 3-3 is of course not correct at all) and tried to run it. Alas, just a black screen, the code is crashing somewhere. But with the openMSX debugger it's possible to find out what's going on... not planning to do that now, but if someone's interested in the config, let me know, and I can send it.
Also that Jisho ROM reminds me of the National FS-4500/4700 who also have stuff like that... perhaps it's somehow reusing that implementation? Would be good to have dumps of all maskroms
I'll read more carefully, but bios apart... is the software exportable and runnable on MSX2+?
Maybe it can be done. The VW-BIOS have a different jump table, and probably the software uses it somehow. And... SYSTEM1 is part of the BIOS or of the software? To me, it looks too much integrated to use in a normal MSX2+.

Can you send this config to me?

Perhaps Tabajara have all those ROMs dumped. I will ask him. I know he did the pinout of NEC gate array, now I need to find this file, it can help this research.

Thanks Manuel!
And now, two posts about Victor/JVC Video Titlers:
Victor/JVC Video Titler JX-T500
Victor/JVC Video Titler JX-T800
The "part 2" of JX-T800 will wait until I can dump its ROM. Meanwhile I hope the "part 1" could be a nice reading.
Great work Piter Punk. Which one is the next one?

The next two you say
I just did a post about Sony XV-J770 and XV-J777
To say they are two different machines is a bit of cheating as they both looks like different versions of the same hardware, not two different products.
If someone still wants to take a look in some hidden MSX hardware. I made a new blog post with an analysis of the ROMs from XV-J777.
Sony Kanji Video Titler XV-J777: Inside the ROMs
I guess the big findings are:
- the huge amount of code shared by Sony MSX's and the video titlers.
- there's an embedded test program which can be useful to better understand this hardware (I am curious about the card reader)
If you want to only check the ROMs, they can be downloaded from here.
Thank you for these reports, they are very interesting. I normally see that Japanese versions of the Sony video titlers include the Sony MOS-1 mouse, have you ever seen them with MOS-2 version? I have a couple of XV-T550 and both include MOS-2 mouses, as we know never sold with any MSX computer. Not sure, probably the first units were sold with MOS-1 and later with MOS-2.
What's the diff between MOS-1 and MOS-2?
