OPL4 - Should I use it in the next game?

The creators obviously do what they want, but personally I love the sound of MSX-Music or SCC music, like SD Snatcher, Dragon Slayer 6 or Illusion City for example. They have a very particular sound that I love (not only for nostalgia), and I would like to have more games that use them.
The OPL4 music sounds very classic to me compared to what you can hear everywhere else.

And the discussions about Sales Discontinued were not at all about whether or not it was good to make a game with OPL4 music (people seem happy with it), but more about the choice of not being able to run the game at all if you don't have that card.
I'm not saying that it's absolutely necessary to always keep compatibility with PSG, but if you're looking for a consensus, that's the solution that seems best to me. Of course, it's not the easiest solution for the creator and he is the one who has the last word. ^^

I am all for that. For me the problem is: We can't create that kind of music. I'd like the idea of a "Adlib sound" version of the bgm in SD, but nobody that can create it. So it is ~~OPL4 only~~ what it is.

Also: you'd limit yourself to a certain style of games. There's so much more out there, but that needs a different paradigm of sound and music.

Basically it’s about nostalgia (“oh, the old sound of my youth I love so dearly”) versus openness to try something different/new. Considering we’re in a community that talks about an old computer that has been commercially dead for over 30 years, we’re bound to have a lot of the nostalgic folks in here that just want their youth back

But yeah, as the creator, just do what you want. There will always be people voicing opinions on what they’d want differently, but at the end of the day it’s a take-it-or-leave-it type of deal. I know that, given the choice to make music on MSX-Music or literally anything else, the anything else option wins

If it's an extra, just add it. Owners of the cartridge might appreciate it. My gut feeling says a lot of people will use an emulator where possible and the opl4 is there.
