The music is different in this version https://www.file-hunter.com/MSX/index.php?id=laffaire
indeed.. That version seems to play the intro music in the game as well....
/edit/
It seems that the UK version of L'Affaire is adapted to fit onto a Single Sided disk. All music tracks have been removed except the first. Hmmm....
/edit/
A real shame that they have removed almost all of the great soundtrack. Unfortunatelly the English version has a completely other setup, so I can't change it I'm afraid. I have added the French, Spanish & Dutch version with all the music tracks included as well to play.
If someone could have a look into making the English version with the complete soundtrack, it would be very very nice!

The german version is on a Single Sided Disk, and there are all music tracks on the disk.
I played it on the VG8235 wich has only a 360kb diskdrive.
Well, then I have no idea why they have removed them. They are not only absent from the disk, they have also been removed from the code. Only one song is left and played throughout the game.
Anyone in possession of the German or Italian version?
I also noticed that the UK version has the default font for the scrolling text in the intro. The versions I have have a modified (fatter) font.
Maybe we should add the Italian & German version on the undumped software list?
Anyone has any idea of the pack-in-video version is English? Anyone who owns that version? Or an English version with the full soundtrack?
That is surprising. I had never heard of a localized German version. Perhaps this was the work of users.

My Brother ordered this game with the VG8235 in an elektric shop nearby (in germany). The text was in german.
Unfortunality, the game don't start anymore several years later, but the files are visible with the 'files' command.
I'm looking for the disk in my parents house tommorow (hope I find it). But I don't have a diskdrive in my PC, so it's a bit difficult.
It's this version:

There is no english version listed. Perhaps the english version is a work of users ? :-?
What's the chance of the english version not having things removed, but in fact is a beta version?
Afterall, the player disguises have different, less obvious, graphics, some background graphics are less detailed and I noted a crash in the game earlier (first it scrolled in garbage characters in the text box and then it reset)
@Matt512: If you find that disk, even though it's not working... It would be nice if you would be able to make a backup of it somehow. We can always look if we can repair that disk somehow
@Spacemoai1973: Who knows

I look tommorow for the disk, but backup mmm. Must restart the turboR ST after 10 years, hope he still starts ...
If I remember correct (it's over 25 years ago), I try to make a copy of this game and hope the copy run and start normally, but it doesn't.
I will see tomorrow and inform you what I found
