Passion MSX just added a review/walkthrough of The Castle to their article section. The article features screenshots of the various rooms you'll be wandering through during this game, complete with a little guide as for what to do. The Castle is a large maze-like platformer, released by ASCII halfway the 80's.

MSXdev regulars Karoshi Corporation are joining the parade again. This time Karoshi Corporation they will enter the arena with a new puzzle game: Ba-Boon! In this game your task is to get all bananas of each stage by bombing your monkey away in order to get all the fruits during its flight!

MSX fan and MRC historian Yukio has just announced that he set his goal on delivering no less than three entries for MSXdev'09! Without a doubt, it's a huge undertaking. A bit of community support would perhaps come in handy.

MSXdev'09 - #1 Plumber

The first finished entry is in! Italian MSXdev regular Andrea Gasparrini (AG Software) has just delivered the game Plumber. This game is a retro looking platformer made in BASIC. Watch out for the mice and the octopus to succeed. But make haste, as you are facing precious time ticking away. It's a 16KB ROM, complete with sources and instructions.

MSXdev'09 has only been in the air for little over a week, and things already seem to get rolling. The first main prize donation has been received by meisei developer hap: €20! Naturally this could just be the start of a much bigger prize.

Three entries from MSXdev'08 have been updated since that challenge was closed.

  • Limaribu, by Arnold Metselaar. The complete source code of this game is now available. It comes in a double package, one for the sources for MSX-DOS 2 and the other for the precomputed lookup tables generator.

A few days ago, one could've spotted mapmaker only_69 working on his latest map. As of today, this map can be downloaded from his website!
