This latter detail is possible only thanks to the fact that walls are flat
Anyway, adding RLE encoded textures on some walls should work as well without drastic losses in the frame rate
Could you do it minecraftish ?
nice huge blocks [] and less detail ? on that damm evil lagging door and step 2 colour the yellow made me a bit uncomfortable
@sarcasmic
I did just for you this special buildt of maze3d
https://sites.google.com/site/testmsx/msx2-doom/maze3d_2011_09_12.rar?attredirects=0&d=1
run the .BIN as .ROM in bluemsx emulating a turboR :P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:face::face::face::face::face::face::face::face::hannibal::hannibal::hannibal::hannibal::hannibal::BA::BA::BA::BA::murdock::murdock::murdock::murdock::murdock::RNFF: Cool :) (this smiles represent the joy and pleasure) ^__^
@Atrag do you remember that 3d demo for v9990?? it totally sucked compared to what you did on a normal standard Gpu!!!!:RNFF:
minecraftish ?
Well yes, why not, it is a nice idea, the detail will be low in any case.
about the v9990, this stuff is working on a r800, so it is not very surprising
the 3d demo was for TR as well
i forgot to mention that
minecraftish only for the gfx lo poly i mean low detail pixel lol
minecraft itself wont work i guess
i whas thinking of a minecraft mod
MSX gfx mod in wich you play VIC from kings valley (C) KONAMI digging your way to piramids and hide at night for the kings valley mummy's Exploding Pharao's and what abouth that rock and roll roling boulder
WARNING!!!!! minecraft CAN be very adictive and wasted allot lives already !!!! if you are that person get help here MA www.minecraftanonymous.com/take :RNFF:
@Atrag A 2d version of MineSuperXpencivecraft could Work :RNFF:
after all, for textures, better to use standard low-res pictures.
minecraft could have some unwanted side effects ...
im cured thanks to update 1.8 mods dont work
In maze3d_2011_09_13_fps.rar I implemented an actual FPS measurement system:
The average figure for frames per second is updated once per second and appears on the bottom right of the screen
(almost like in modern 3d games :-P)
https://sites.google.com/site/testmsx/msx2-doom/maze3d_2011_09_13_fps.rar?attredirects=0&d=1
a silly idea: in screen 8 one could have different brightness according to distance...
I confirm: the framerate in screen 8 is about 18-19 fps!
I could try to implement decreasing brightness according to distance (a sort of doom without textures, to have an idea), it should be easy and fast
The problem could be the floor and the celing: they way they are plotted now should change...anyway, one thing at time
This is the turboR/GFX9000 thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMELZufV_6s
