This saturday active MSX users of Netherlands and abroad will meet in 'Wijkcentrum De Schans' in Tilburg, to join in CGV Tilburg's international computer meeting. Traditionally, most attention goes to MSX computers during this meeting. This year, we already spotted quite an increase of activity in the MSX scene resulting in a nice list of standholders. Here's what we know so far:

  • CGV Tilburg - Fair organization
  • MSX-NBNO - Selling software and magazines, including a new software title: Imanok's Cat 'n mouse
  • Team Bomba - Demonstrating the latest version of Bombaman.
  • The openMSX development team will show the latest version of openMSX
  • Deltasoft will sell lots of software titles as usual, including the recently released translation of Xak 1. Furthermore a new English translation, Falcom's Sorcerian will be released
  • MSX Affiliates Forum will announce a special contest at their booth
  • Bitwise will demonstrate their TMTNet Network interface and an USB interface to use a PC as a diskdrive.
  • MCWF will be selling MSX computers and hardware, and offer information on MSX repairs.
  • MSX Info magazine will be promoting their magazine, Padial hardware and some software
  • TNI - Demonstration of a new version of GEM, the Gameboy Emulator for MSX. This new version uses both the Z380 and the GFX9000 for maximum speed.
  • Sargon is back and will release two new translations. Hydlide 2 and Randar 1 will be released in English at last.
  • HCC MSX-GG will have a stand as well
  • Sunrise will be selling their impressive lineup of hardware (IDE cartridges, CompactFlash interfaces, GFX9000, Moonsound) and software

Of course the MSX Resource Center will also have a stand. On our stand we will have several interesting lectures from 11:00 to 15:00. A detailed timeschedule will be handed out on the fair itself.

  • Marcel Delorme will talk about his OPL4 wave editor for GFX9000
  • Manuel Bilderbeek (or David Heremans) will have a small talk about openMSX
  • Team Bomba will show some Bombaman highlights
  • Michiel de Vries will give an in-depth presentation about Meridian, the MIDI editor capable of playing MIDI files through the Moonsound (OPL4).

Apart from these presentations, you can have a look at MSX Magazine 2003, Emulator & Games magazine and the @rroba magazine that featured an interview with the MSX Resource Center. We hope to have a large ammount of rare Japanese MSX games for sale as well. Throughout the day, some people will share the stand with us.

As you can see, there are more than enough reasons to pay a visit to the International MSX fair in Tilburg this year. We're looking forward to meet you there!

added the missing info, although I would like to state we are not forgetting things. We do not receive any information at all, which makes it near impossible to promote the Tilburg fair as much as we'd like to.

Phone calls to the CGV are short and not really informative, e-mails are not replied. To get some more information I started a forum topic in the MRC asking people to tell what they were doing and I found the time to ask some people in person. That's how we have to get the information on Tilburg these days.

Even worse snout , I had to tell Rinus what the costs were for a booth after he had contacted Frank Pison. But that info I got this weekend.
It was just to let it know. And many things will always be decided at the very last minute.

well... the internet gives us the opportunity to report about last minute changes... that's one of the benefits...

The standholders (at least me) didn't recieve any information about the fair yet. It's just 5 nights away!
Last year there were already complaints about the organisation, but this year it's even more 'c*nt with pears'... (xcuse the translated dutch expression Tongue)

same here, no info received...
oh and the contest will not be HELD at tilbeurs, it will just be announced there. And it is not organised by the MSX-Xpress, but by the MSX Affiliates Forum Wink Small difference Wink

I must say it really is a shame that the fair that was once honoured for it's great international appeal, is now being so mal-promoted.. let us hope that next year's organisation/promotion will be better. I still have hope for the organisation at the fair though Wink

Good news.
Tomorrow , everybody should have the ultimate information about the Tilburg Fair.
I have phoned with the people of CGV.
Delay was due to illness of the man who had to print the 'magazine'
