If you can cope with mini-itx x86, things like this become possible:

Actually, if Bifi ever launch PseudoMSX, creating a stand-alone x86 MSX would be also nice.

Hi!

We want to make the board smallest as possible.

Make it smaller, demands at least, two things...

* More time (to make all thing to fit without conflicts or interference)
* More money to make a multilayer board (4 or more)

So... lets see what will happen...

Regards!

@Tecnobytes - Maggoo and I will be hosting an MSX Exhibit this weekend here in Atlanta and the theme will be related to how MSX machine have evolved over the years. We plan to showcase many different types of MSX machines from MSX I, 2, 2+, Turbo R, and the 1 Chip MSX machines. We don't have the Ascii version, but btween all 3 of us exhibiting, we will be able to display 3 different colors of Zemmix Neo. From what I've seen of this project, GR8BIT and the WORP3 project, it might be nice to include current information and/or prototype information about this hardware as these two projects seem to be the next evolutionary chapters of the MSX Standard.

Is there anything you could share with us such as the most current specs and/or early prototypes of what the machine could look like. It wouldn't need to be a final design.

Thanks very much and best of luck on your project!

Hi Thomas!

Thank you by the opportunity, but for while, we can not speak more than has already been said...

Big hug!

Is msx 3 by any chance a real msx computer or is it just an emulator? How many colors this new msg computer can produce and would there be a keyboard version as will?

It's a real computer, the actual specs have been posted on the previouse page (10) in this thread. As it has a VDP9990 (Graphics9000) included, it can display up to 32.768 colours.

Actually, it will be a real computer, when the boys get it ready. Maybe a prototype exists somewhere. So you can get anywhere yet, unless you'll build it yourself...

And I guess "MSX 3" is not an official standard, like MSX, MSX2, MSX2+ and TurboR are / were.

Ok I am looking forward for the msx 3. I am hoping it will come in wavy keyboard or some sexy keyboard case with cartridge slots like the original and that it boots from cartridges first. As for not being official as long as it comes with its own custom motherboard and chips and use similar chips like the real thing but better upgrade and not some cheap x86 system with an emulator in the background then to me it is official enough Smile

Also if it have it's own build into the chip GUI own msx OS that run msx ROMs by double clicking them from within the OS same as disk and allow to be backward compatible then I am super happy Smile

Wait a minute....are you saying if I have this card gfx9000 and Opl4 I actually turned my MSX 1 into an MSX 2? That I can finally play all MSX1 and MSX2 games on my MSX1 computer using this card? Are you saying this card is like a video card for the PC? It is a video card upgrade for my MX1 or I still need to own MSX2 to run MSX 2 games?
