Thanks that looks very useful. I downloaded it this morning.

I suppose I'd better try to figure out how to run a .ROM file on the MSX.

I'm thinking - transfer it onto a cartridge somehow....???????

It's great being a noob all over again for the 1893rd time!!!!

Please test with this one as well:

If it works, you know it works with MSX2 BIOS as well (this library uses exactly same way to read mouse)

You can use any Flash cartridge, yes. It's always useful to have some. But for small ROMs you can just load them from disc drive (if you have any) using ODO.COM for MSX-DOS. If you don't have drive, there's a way to make WAV files of them and load from cassette port.

This doesn't work! It only results in an Illegal Function Call.

MSX Basic 1.0 does not support the pad() function. I've searched through several MSX Basic v1.0 manuals and there isn't a single reference to it.

Unfortunately I don't have a disk drive.

Is it within the rules to ask for sale of a Flash cartridge on this forum?

It seems a device like that might encourage software piracy.

Please take a look at MSX2 manual. You will receive "illegal function call", if you don't install the driver first with BLOAD"MSX1MUIS.BIN",R

That’s fine, they’re common and used for development. Even the Konami (SD-)Snatcher sound cartridge has this functionality Smile. Just avoid the topic of where to illegally download copyrighted files, cause we wouldn’t want msx.org to be receiving cease and desist notices because it links to it.

In your case you would have to look at the Flash +SD cartridge, since you dont have a diskdrive. You can put the ROM file on a SD card using your PC and then load it in flash using your MSX.
