Hello, just bought this cart (seems quite rare and unknown):

What the use of it?

I guess it was used in Japan with the first series of modems, when the analog signal coming from the phone was converted to a digital signal to be sent on the net. The contrary device was also required to receive the signals and re-convert them in analog form for the receiver's phone.

No any idea, there are 5 channels on this cartridge, maybe 4 different inputs and 1 output (REF) ?

I don't think this is a modem, but I don't have any facts... With analog inputs Vref usually means "reference voltage" I would guess, it can be used to scale the 4 channels of analog inputs. Is this hardware only or is there some software inside? Maybe this is originally meant as some sort of oscilloscope replacement.

To digitize audio, I would try something like:

... but you still need the software for that...
