Help with Xak II

Hi! Me and my wife are playing Xak 2, and we're stuck trying to get to the key in the crystal mines. We get close to it, but cannot enter the room without warping somewhere else. Now, I've got patience, but she certainly don't. So.. anyone got some hints for us? We've seen the maps, but still don't get how you're supposed to be able to get in there because of the warp.

I still have to play Xak II so just a guess.

the copy protection only stops you from entering the church and puts your karma to 130. The crystal caves are a maze beyond believe. I think it took me 3 days to find all the items out there.

Thanks, but the copy protection is supposed to warp you into a room with 4 chests and no exit as far as I can read.

I had a hard time finding a working version that gave me the boss on top of the castle in stead of the end demo... At the end I had to use several disks and have a major swap fest...

I used a debugger and made the version working. Had to invest some time but it was worth it

I remember it was not that hard as I made it quite fast without hints few years ago.
But anyway, here's a map at MRC, which contains the solutions to that particular floor (and all the others): Xak II map

It would be nice if someone made a copy of the ORIGINAL XakII disks,
in for example .DMK format. ( For preservation sake )
So the copyprotection stays intact, to prevent troubles like above.

Hello, have the same problem, can't find the Brass Key in the Crystal Mines.
The map didn't help, because i couldn't get behind the warp door to the chest.
I also don't know the way to the 4 treasure chests.
Play the english translation of the game on bluemsx.
Hopefully someone help me.
Played it on my turbo-R in 1991 in japanese, and i got through somehow, but couldn't remember.
