thinlizzy: You know perfectly well what is and what isn't allowed over here

I am sorry, but your assumption is incorrect. The rules are not clear for me.

See, you censored many links from http://baudejogos.vetorial.net alleging it was a warez site.
But, there is NO WAREZ in the site; no roms for download and so on.

On the other hand, links to the msxfiles site are free here and you know there is a warez section in the site.

What is the deal? Two weights and two measures?

Thanks. Now I curious if the game is as good as its MC68000 counterparts.Big smile

Oops... does that mean you haven't seen it before? Well, don't expect too much then. The reviews generally agreed that the game still had something to offer in terms of playability, but that graphics and sound were a bit disappointing. But then, I don't know any conversion of Out Run to a home computer that was halfway decent. Out Run MSX2 actually has more in common with the only decent 8-bit version (the SMS) than any of the other ones. As for 16-bit, the Genesis version is almost as nice as the arcade version, which is still very nice (but not very legal) to play in MAME.

(Btw, I don't want to go offtopic, but has anyone played OutRun 2006 by any chance?)

If you ask me, Outrun (MSX2, didn't try the other version) is very boring. But that might be me.

fondacio, no oops needed: I played the rom file which I started this thread about on Openmsx for a bit. I liked it, but I'd rather play any game on a real machine. And I didn't exactly pay much, so no worries.Big smile

My opinion about OutRun versions for MSX:

OutRun MSX1:
Graphics: Hmm... That might be a car unless it is a bird...
Music: Very good
Playability: What, was this meant to be played???

OutRun MSX2:
Graphics: Not bad at all!
Music: Could be worse... not much.
Playability: Can be played... almost 5 minutes.

diederick76, thanks for the reassurances. So I assume that your statement "as good as its MC68000 counterparts" is tongue-in-cheek? Smile
