Those SG1000 ports released by SLotman were a great way to expand the MSX game catalog!. My questions is that it will be possible to make direct ports form Colecovision games too Smile... are there any doc or information out there contain any of the following tips?:

- Colecovision's ROM's header description: I know that start with a 55 AA or AA 55 but don't know the real lenght of the header or the position in which the "start program" direction is stored.

- ColecoVision's BIOS call listing

- Colecovision's Hardware description: including all ports

This is in order to try to make direct ports for MSX, I already know there is a Colecovision emulator for MSX2 Smile. BTW, "Spy Hunter" will be my testing ROM. I don't know if someone did it before (direct ports from Coleco), if so just tell.

Well I think the Colem Emulator works by patching the out registers and redirecting the ROM calls, nothing more, but I could be mistaken.

I still don't understand why Konami made Gyrus for the Coleco and never ported it to the MSX, it's a damn great shooter (at least the arcade version is)

Mission (the MSX ColecoVision emulator) only replaces the CV BIOS with a version that uses the MSX hardware. AFAIK that's the only thing it 'emulates'.
Any program that uses the ColecoVision hardware directly needs to be patched (and there's an archive of patches available at the Mission homepage).

Are you sure ? Konami Gyruss ? MSX Version ?

Odd, I've never even have heard of the Official port from Konami. Perhaps an early hack from the Coleco version ?

I'm also interested on this... a couple of days ago I took a quick look at Jungle Hunt (just love that game on arcade) for Coleco, and tried to convert it to MSX. But I couldnt find any good info on Coleco Bios, just that adress 7000-7fff is used by BIOS to return some values and the rom itself is loaded at 8000-ffffh

I ported a game from the Coleco, but still didn't release it. It's as simple as porting SG-1000. The documents you want can be found at EPR.

Oh don't worry about that, the chances you choose the same game as I did are very, very low. I'll try to release the game after the Bounce Challenge.
