DSK-PRO 10.1 Killer Copy Machine Edition RELEASED!

Improvements:

1 - Hard Mode created. With this special protected mode enabled, it's possible to copy disks with Overlapping Sectors Lock and Clone Sectors Lock.

2 - The speed in normal mode is even faster. There is no copier in the world faster than DSK-PRO.

3 - Fixed Bug when trying to Format a corrupted disk with Verify option ON.

4 - More types of protections are supported.

5 - Now when exiting it goes back to the operation system.

PS: Of course there are still some locks that can not be copied for now.

Don't use another DOS1 instead the one inside the DSK file. If you use another one, it may not load the file DSKPRO.COM correctly.
If you use DOS2 or Nextor, no problems.

Well Manuel, as I know almost everything about msx disk protections, I must know how to do that.
And I know for example that is too easy to create a protected disk image like the DMK file format, that is good for MSX preservation but is impossible to be written back to a real disk. At least not using a MSX floppy disk interface.

So, I know what is possible to be written back to a real disk automatically. It's a difficult task because there are so many variables in this process.

But when the automatic process is not possible to copy a disk track, I can do that manually. I just need to find out where the protection is and I can reproduce the lock using the manual process. If the protection is created using a MSX disk interface, I can reproduce it.

So, the DMK format is far away to the real disk (file -> disk).

PDI file format, is a very simple file format, but with information that can be written back to the real disk.
And the more importante thing, 99% of MSX disk protections are supported by PDI.

If you have 5 disks that DSK-PRO can not copy, all those disks have the same type of protection included in the 1% that DSK-PRO does not support.

Here in Brazil for example, there are several types of protections and the DSK-PRO copies all of them.

And I am trying to improve the tool to copy more and more protections.

So can it now copy the protections that were used by the Japanese MSX2 disk games, like those from Microcabin, Falcom, Konami, Tecnosoft, etc. etc. etc.? Those account for a large archive of disk games, I think!

So, be careful with your 99%....!

Also, I wasn't starting a discussion on PDI vs DMK format at all. I just asked you how you write back those tracks, as there are some technical difficulties involved as we discussed before.

Listen, all those japanese protections are like the same. So, it's the same type included in the 1%.
You have no idea of the amount of locks that we have here in Brazil.
So, DSK-PRO may copy some japanese copy protections but actually I don't know because I don't have any.
It doesn't matter if you have 1000 japaneses disks that can not be copied by DSK-PRO. They may belong to the same kind of lock.
I now that because japaneses disks don't use direct access to check if the disk has a special lock. They use bios read routines to check the lock.
And the only type o lock that these routines can check is the Overlapping Sectors Lock and Clone Sectors Lock, which are very difficult to be copied by automatic ways.

But DSK-PRO can copy some locks like that but not perfectly. We need to check.

Try to copy all those disks you have and tell me.
