Does anyone have the Elite game disc (DSK image) already with the Docking Computer?

I would be grateful if anyone can provide.

Thanks

Marcelo

Hi Marcelo, what is the docking computer? The Elite game has been dumped and can be found on the file-hunter site. E-mail me if you can’t find the disk image (my address is in my profile).

the docking computer in an ingame device you have to earn by selling stuff.
before you can buy it you have to manually dock.
i THINK i have seen a Elite Savegame editor once..

The Docking Computer is a piece of equipment that is sold in-game for a cost of 1500 credits. I consider it the most important piece of equipment in the game as it allows you to land on the space station just by pressing the C key. However, it is very difficult to land on the space station without this equipment. In the heyday of MSX I had the game and it even came with the Docking Computer. But I no longer have the disk. Therefore, I would like to have an image with this equipment already included. The game is excellent and I want to play it again. Thanks if anyone can or even hack the game.

This page about the game is very interesting, at the time I reached Deadly level. I wanted to play it all over again to reach Elite.

I saw this editor too, in Dutch language, but I couldn't get it to work. I even generated a new image, but I don't know if it was an error on my part or if it was an error in the image.

It would be very interesting to have an image of the Elite with this equipment already included. Elite is a classic!

It's easy enough to hack any save game with a HEX editor to add the docking computer.

I did document it all once on here but I'm not sure where.

EDIT: The Hex Editor cheat was for tape saves but there is a cheat that I expanded to include Docking computer for the disk. It's in BAS format.

Here.

If I'm not mistaken it was this program that I tried to use to place the Docking Computer but I must have done something wrong. Could you guide me how to use the program? I have an Elite DSK image, but I wouldn't know how, for example, to get the savegame and use the program to replace it within the DSK. It will be of great help. Thank you for your attention.

Okay it’s a BASIC program so you can use openMSX in the following way:

1. Boot an MSX computer with disk drive (do not insert the elite image yet).
2. Put CHEAT2.BAS in an otherwise empty directory.
3. Load that directory as A: drive (openMSX will simulate a floppy disk)
4. In basic type: RUN”CHEAT2.BAS”
5. Follow the program’s instructions, which will probably ask for the elite disk at some point.

Be aware that during combat you might lose your docking computer which will force you to dock manually. That is why it is probably a good thing you'll need to master docking before being able to buy the docking computer. I also made it a habit of docking manually periodically not to lose the capability.

Here is the Elite Cheat and a save disk. Save 2 has the Docking Computer and a Large Cargo Bay (the cargo bay was added by accident). You start in Lave on 100 credits

First, thanks for sending me the files. I tried to perform the procedure today.

I was able to run the Cheat2.bas program and change the original DSK file, however the fixtures still don't show up. The DSK image I used from Elite was the disc version, which I downloaded from Ian Bell's website.

MSX Elite Disk Version

The procedure I did was:

1) Run the file "cheat2.bas"
2) insert the MSXElite.dsk file into the emulator, on drive A.
3) Inform the options that the program asks for
4) After the last question, I noticed that the DSK is updated.

When I run the updated DSK, the fixtures don't show up. Did I do the correct procedure?
