It is possible, you have to use the IPS patch mentioned above. It fixes the code that causes the game not to boot when in a subslot. The resulting ROM will work in SofaRun. The translation into English also has that fixed code (and makes the game playable for us non Japanese).

Hmm, just tried with my C2 and it seems the patched ROM does not work from SofaRun. On MFR the same ROM does run from SofaRun. So there appears to be some incompatibility. I tried using C2 RAM as well as C2 Flash.

I just get a white screen with 2 N characters on the right and another Japanese character.

I tried all my versions of Metal Gear 2. Only the Remix versions and one patched with this patch seem work in a secondary slot. It remains to be seen whether these two versions work on the C2 with Sofarun.

Sorry for the link i posted above. It's not a good version. I will ask to replace it.

Same here, alas.

But the FRS-patched version works fine The result has this sha1sum: 54c9da6ef45c3086c92414dfb95bf82832820857

This is the ROM with translation v1.3 and Turbo fix v1.1 patches applied. The latest version of the translation patch is v1.4. Both not work in secondary slots. What do you do to get it to work on the C2?

Run it with SofaRun with subslot disabled in the SR settings for that game.
