Hey Guys I'm looking for the LVA510 chip for a Toshiba HX-10. I'm wondering if any of you have a spare one for sale or know where one can be found ? Don't want to break another HX-10 just for the chip !

RepairBas also has them I think.
I think so but that seems pricey.

RepairBas ?
I have constant problems getting working LVA510 chips from China. From the last batch of 3 chips I could use only one. I wish someone created the replacement of that bloody old and unreliable chip!

Alexy, I only need one Can you link me to your Chinese source and can you tell me if they are expensive ? I understand that Chinese chips are often fake but will they take my money and run ? Even if i have to buy 3 just to get one i dont mind as long as there not that expensive in the first place.
Anyone know what else the LVA510 is used for ? If i can find one in an old video recorder, or something, i wouldn't mind tearing it apart for the chip !

I think it is a nice idea but, the info about this chip is scarce.
You can get some info from the MSX technical docs, such as Yamaha and Philips computers and guess how the chips works.
Maybe you can find an MSX-1 that has a different chip (if any ? ) and try to get a replacement.
AFAIK, LVA510 does fix the extra voltage in the color components (at sync time) from the TMS9929a, it is configurable for NTSC and PAL and delivers luma and chroma (S-Video style) signals.
Products from China (AliExpress, eBay) are often made-up recycled products sold as new products. So you have to make sure you can get reimbursed in the event of a problem to buy them because some probably won't work.
