The "Carnivore2 Quick Start Guide" recommends 4Gb CF card, which equals to 512MB. But can 2GB CF be used, giving that Carnivore2 uses FAT16, which supports upto 2GB/partition?

Thank you.

They mean 4 gigabyte, not 4 gigabit. FAT16 can support up to 4 GB/partition.

Don’t take the casing too literally Smile, CF capacities are commonly indicated in bytes not bits.

It is possible to use even 16Gb CF with four 4Gb partitions and it works fine. You have to add commands to AUTOEXEC.BAT to make Nextor mount partitions on system start. Example:

MAPDRV /L D: 2 1 1
MAPDRV /L E: 3 1 1
MAPDRV /L F: 4 1 1

where 2, 3, and 4 are partition numbers. if your C2 is in slot 2 not in slot 1 then change last numbers to 2 (i.e. MAPDRV /L D: 2 1 2). Here drive letters start from D because B and C are taken by flooppy in my case. If you have no floppy you can use letters from B upwards
