I took a gamble and managed to bought some kind of vhd interface card for victor hc90/95, but i have not yet received it. This card is not same as shown in wiki page https://www.msx.org/wiki/Victor_IF-C9C . It has two dsub connectors. The vhd-named connector seems like same kind as for Sharp X1( there was auction for sharp X1 vhd card and that separate unit between card and vhd player, but price went over 2000€). From X1 auction pictures the card schematics could be drawn as those pics were quite good(card contains only simple logic ics). But is it usefull for msx side comparsion or not? I have X1 machine also and vhd software for X1( "rom" software?). And one game (thunder storm) with cassette, but now lacking msx side cassette for it.

Anyway hopefully there is rom chip alive, and hopefully with that vhd basic inside.

The interface seems to be called IF-C9D so probably an updated version of IF-C9C.

Here are card pics. From that 9 pin dsub, there is only two pins connected to pcb.

Very different from the NAPLPS MK2 card.... Not sure that the right connector is for NAPLPS.

The rom size is 32K, so not that 8K that was speculated. But that nec 80C49C, does it contain also internal rom or not?

https://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/index.php?title=80C49C

"The µPD80C39H, µPD80C49H, and µPD49H are single-chip, 8-bit microcomputers containing an 8-bit CPU, ROM {80C49H and 49H), RAM, 110 ports, and control circuitry. "

Yes, but it does not even list ic ending with 49C, but 49H.

Maybe this can help: https://usermanual.wiki/Document/1984NECMicrocomputerCatalog...

80C49C is not mentioned, but 80C49 (without H or C) has ROM + RAM.

Both have the same connector Serial I/F.

We don't have a front picture of the NAPLPS MK2 interface ... so, difficult to be fully sure, although the internal parts seem the same.

I think only the content of the ROMs will give an accurate answer.
