Hello everyone,

Just thought I should mention this.
By coincidence I stumbled upon something strange. When I use the nms 8250 or nms 8255 with openmsx the game L'Affaire stops loading after a while and nothing happens. I tried pressing CTRL, 512 memory mapper. Nothing works.
When I set the emulator on Panasonic FS-A1GT (Turbo R) it does startup and as far as I know L'Affaire isn't a turbo r game??

Next to my own image I also tried the dsk version found on nitroroms.com. Same behavior. Philips nada, turbo R starts the game.

Anyone knows why l'affire has problems with these two philips beasts Smile ?

Well, for some reason I only have a few machines. Tried the NMS 8255 and NMS 8245 though, same result.

"L'Affaire" has a particular protection.

The original game is burnt on a formated disk 360 Ko ... Wink

Hmm strange, it works on my real Philips 8250 and NOT in Openmsx Philips 8250 .
Tested with L'affaire Frech and Spanish, if someone can provide me the Dutch version i can test this too.

@walter Thanks for the tip, goning to test it on 360k disk now

The original game does not work with a real Turbo-R.
But you can use a virtual copy (cracked), provided that it is on an identical support. Smile

No, running the game from a 360k disk does not work Sad

The game hangs in a diskrom routine, might be the copy protection Walter was talking about ?

Looks like it's a good candidate for a DMK image..

Meits: thanks!

I would check if there any STOP FDD subroutine called twice. I have an issue with machine hanging because of it. Usually it looks something like that:

        LD B,0
.loop:
        PUSH BC
        CALL FD9Fh
        POP BC
        DJNZ .loop

@Walter-MSX: Looks like this game is emulated "in the opposite way" Smile, because the turbo R is the only machine which will let me play the game. My real nms 8255 has no problem with the game (even when it is on a 720 kb disk).
