I mean games which were never converted to MSX or games which were converted to MSX but don´t have any music or music is totally different and/or usually much worse and shorter than on Commodore 64. Just listen MSX´s Army Moves or Commando and compare those tunes to Commodore 64....... (and there are countless much more worse examples of course.....)
There are hellish amount of good SID game musics which I have dreamed to listen on MSX someday.... (have dreamed about this over twenty years now....)
I know 128K Spectrum has some demo tunes like Commando main theme by Frantisek Fuka (hopefully I wrote his name right) but at least Commando tune was not as good as original, but that´s NOT because AY could not handle it. Some 128K Spectrum games have arrangements of C=64 originals, but I think AY can do better.
Of course some MSX games have some really good arrangements, like David Whittaker´s tunes, but we all know how badly we MSX´ers have been mistreated in 80s when it comes to european game musics......
I really like to hear Rob Hubbard´s game tunes on MSX like the ones from Commando, Ghost´n´Goblins, One Man and His Droid, Sanxion loading tune, Crazy Comets and it´s sequel Mega-Apocalypse, Monty On The Run, Action Biker, Star Paws, etc..... you can easily listen them using SIDplay. http://sidplay2.sourceforge.net/ You can find great sid collection from http://www.hvsc.c64.org/ which is c64 game/demo music collection site. :)
And of course Martin Galway´s and many many other composer´s tunes too.....
There are SO many arrangements of japanese game machine musics already, perhaps now is the time to start making PSG arrangements of european game musics too at last!! :)
If one composes Monty On The Run and another ports it from Spectrum and combines arrangement to game code, we can have great new game on MSX!! :)
