Hello, lately i wanted to start collectiong all konami roms and megaroms and make a complete collection of konami games for msx.

Some of the rarest games are Sd snatcher and Snatcher ,i purchased them from ebay as well as Shalom Knightmare 3.One of the not so rare that i purchased was F1 spirit.(in all these games i looked for complete boxes and manuals, generally in very good condition).

I would like to ask something regarding the price of the most rare megarom of konami Metal Gear 2.What would be a good price for it?I am always talking about complete game with manuals and box in good condition.

Reason i bought the mentioned roms SD snatcher and Snatcher first is that i have never been able to find them on ebay through all these years, while games like Gradius,Usas,Metal Gear 1 are on ebay more frequently,F1 spirit was sold cheaply so i bought as soon i saw itSmile.

After metal gear 2 which rom should i try to find ?Which is the rarest?

Thank you

"Cabbage patch kids" complete-in-box would be very hard to obtain. And also would be pretty expensive, If I'm correct.
Also "King's valley gold" is one of the rarest.

I've seen those both in stt's collection, which is pretty amazing. He even has some prototypes of konami module games! Eek! Tongue

Edit, Some links to stt's stuff:

Anyway all the pics are from MSX info update parties 2k?..

King's valley gold is it the one on disk that has the stages from a competition that konami made and asked fans to create their own levels?

No King valley gold is a cartridge, which konami made as a price in that competition. There are some of them. I don't remember the exact amount.
Check the edit I made in the upper post.

You must be a very ambitious (and rich) guy Nikodr. Wink I wish you good luck in your search.

Yum no i am not rich at all.I just spend the profits i may have from my salary at work.Getting all konami msx roms has always been my ambition but i could not do that because i could not locate games such as "Sd snatcher" and snatcher, now that i have these i think i can get the restSmile.

As i am from Greece and i was an msx user it was impossible back in the eighties to find original software for msx/msx2.The first games for msx i got when i was 6 years old in 1987 were all cracks from konami megaroms such as metal gear, hinotori etc.I always wondered what the originals looked like.In the new age of e-bay now it may be possible someday to have them!

Best

I know the feeling Nikodr. Same story here (except I am from Holland and not from Greece). That was exactly the reason why I started collecting software myself. I have done my share when it comes to collecting Konami's and that's why I can say that you really need a lot of money and tons of time to search on Ebay and MSX fairs. Some titles are REALLY hard to find. I gave up collecting Konami's quite a few years ago because it was imho impossible and started collecting Compile games. Now, I finally have all Compile games for MSX complete and am now trying the same with Falcom and Microcabin.

If you have a complete collection of Konami's please make LOTS of photos and put them online since I never have seen a complete Konami collection.

Good luck (again) Tongue

Hi,
What is your definition of "a full collection of Konami games for msx"?
- Is it pure about the game, so it doesn't matter if you have the european version or the japanese. (or do you want both) (+ korean (zemina) + brazilian (gradiente) + something somebody made at home with his EPROM writer)
- Is it about the games that konami has published or about the games that konami has developed? So, should konami games, published by Sony, be a part of the collection?
- Are SAMPLE carts a part of the "full collection" or is it only what has been released officialy? If they are, the collection will never be complete because you don't know how many different SAMPLE carts there are.
- What about unreleased games? There are screenshots in advertising, so there should be something out there I guess.
- etc.
- etc.

Okay, maybe I'm going to farQuestion, but what is your idea about it?

grtz, Leo.
(my collection)

LeoM dont freak out with me,i just want the games that konami made, european and japanese.I dont want the zemina or brazilian or any other made with help from eprom makers.

Example i have now the following games:

snatcher,Sd snatcher,F1 spirit,penguin adventure japanese,and shalom knightmare 3

i would not really want games such as the disk collections with the scc+ support.Nor to have metal gear 1 japanese (which would not work on my pal msx by the way,it has a region protection on the code of the rom when it starts). But would definitely want metal gear 2 solid.

I just want games from rc700 to 769 but not all of them (just singles).Eg in your list you have 3 f1 spirit versions.I have the european one i would not want the others, but would want to get a1.Now there is gradius 2 and nemesis 2,i would just get nemesis 2.The same with usas.I would prefer the european version.

I know that the list is not a 100% complete konami, but an aproximation.

Now later i may hunt some roms like the japanese ones but for start the only ones i got were the rather rare and expensive Snatcher series and shalom knightmare 3.

I hope this answers your questionsSmile
