@bsittler: Can I have a look at your dumps of City Connection and Pyramid Warp? I have disassembled both games (the common dumps) and want to check what the differences are.

Quick preview of the differences:
- City Connection: just 1 unused byte at the end of the cartridge.
- Pyramid Warp: the are several sparse changes (about 10 bytes), and all of them seems to be related with the sound data.
I'll write a more detailed report as soon as possible ^_^ But unfortunately, nothing relevant. I was expecting to find more leftovers of the unused enemy slots in Pyramid Warp or a different sprite pattern for the wrong sprite in City Connection... but no luck

Thanks for sharing your analysis! It's unsurprising the City Connection is very similar, I think it's just an unauthorized rerelease for Thailand of the official Japanese release; for Pyramid Warp I think it may just be a slightly earlier build by the same developers but not really sure
