The Lost World game - I need some small help figuring out something strange

Huy all!

As you have guessed from the title , I need some help with this wonderful game. I think this could be a bug, but I am not sure if it is related to the .dsk's (complete package with manual) that I have or if it is something else that is happening. I also do have the original yellow disks as well, but at the moment I am not able to put them inside an original MSX as I am abroad.

The problem is as follows:
The Prince (Yrandai Palace, Chelestra) is asking me to wait for the king to return, and then I might have permission to enter the crypt. After that, (CCAEANAGACAIAA) I went to Danzig to fetch the key in Amok and after that, I went to Port Hope to hear the story about the man in the black cape, till here everything is fine (CCAFANAGACAJAA). When I now return to Port Fargo for the next part, the Mayor is already gone and the innkeeper is not telling me to talk to the Mayor and when I go into his house the Mayor has vanished.... I spend hours and hours and hours on it thinking that the Mayor is somewhere else so went to everything village etc. but based on some of my searches here on the forum AND a very useful guide, the Mayor is my next part.

Also, if it is possible and you have a .dsk with a savegame, RIGHT after the Mayor or some hint codes further (not too far of course :) ) that would be great! I am using BlueMSX and on the phone (android) paid version of Msx.emu

Please let me know if I am doing something wrong or how I can solve this.

Thanks for your reaction! That useful guide i was referring to was I think the same walkthrough (which i found after days of roaming around on the islands ), I quote:

I have tried multiple ways yes. Without sleep, with sleep, saving before, reloading etc all with the same results, unfortunately.

Hello Randam and others,

Tried again multiple things, also had copied some files and created new dsk out of so it will be fresh data. I even went back couple of hint codes (before clearing out Port Drevlin). Did the whole sequence again and saved on different discs.

All of that didn't matter the Mayor is still not on its original spot and the inn/barkeeper is not telling me to go to the Mayor, even though i have the correct code.

Anybody still has a suggestion, i think i cannot surpass this bug, is there someone with a savegame (llw on disk) which is JUST passed this moment? I would like to continue again

I just checked my saves. This had completely slipped my mind... I only have saves ranging from level 32 to 44 on two disks.

Is that remotely close to where you are at?

Hello Randam,

Don't worry! Too bad that is a bit too far, the reason being that I also have level 30 saves, but that brings me way further than I am now with the Mayor/King's son part. I would like to continue before this and check if the issue still is there and continue from this moment.

Still thanks for checking! Maybe there will be still someone who has some levels before this event.

At the moment I am not in the Netherlands + I am not having an original MSX here as well, so cannot try a lot (only emulators and USB floppydrie which i tried multiple time as well, same error).

funny side note, the music in the video you posted is an original Nosferatu track by Kid Cnoz (Hans). That project died and music was refactored for The Lost World, amongst others.
