HI

Does anybody know if this ide interface by Egor Voznesenski (SOLID) works?
If so, how etc.
It looks simple to build, with a very interesting disk rom source.
Also what would it's specs be?

  • Max hdd size
  • Max Partition size
  • etc

PS I still love my sunrise ide!

Well, I am not an electronics expert but can a 1995 design be better than a design wich is still developed and improved?

This is in no way a comparison, because I have a lovely Sunrise IDE CF cart that works quite well... But of couse that an old design can be good!

Is Leonardo Da Vinci a worse painter than Picasso? Time to discuss.

You could wonder what use it is to build an old and unsupported interface.
Sunrise ATA has lots of programs especially written for it, so you can use CD-ROM with it or FAT16, etc...

The same as playing on a 3.5Mhz 8bit cpu when pentium 4 is blazing away!
Also it seems simple enough to build might work on msx1 . . .

A happy user of msx and all the old stuff.

Sorry to restart this topic, but i've built e beer-202 to test my MSX-1, it works, but i can't format or pratition the disk. The README on IDE.zip says that there's a program called HDPREP to make this, does someone have this program? Neither Google or other internet site seems to have it...

Thank you!

@DaBest

Could you perhaps make a foto of your built interface ???

These are scans of the interface, I've used an old 80col. cart as base for the IDE.
