Is there an R-Type version that has MSX2 graphics? I wasn't aware of that... Original R-Type is MSX1 only, but some people may think it uses MSX2 graphics - similar to Konami's Nemesis series for example.
The ROM is a 'one-off' type (16Kbyte blocks) and is 3 MBit, but considering block contents it's more like a 2 1/4 Mbit ROM.
Yeah, but it's very subtle. Check stage 2 for example, it has a custom palette:

Do you still have this after 8 years...?
I would like to have the ROM files please
I will also be interested in that rom version.
tried, the following R-Type roms for msx, but none seem to work with Carnivore2:
- R-Type v2 (1988) (Irem) [a] .rom
- R-Type v2 (1988) (Irem) .rom
Only working R-Type and .dsk file, so I think a reduced version compared to .Rom files:
- R-Type (1988) (Irem) .dsk
Anyone know how to indicate a ROM version of R-Type working with Carnivore2 ?? Thank you
There are several version of ROM. Have you tried Bifi's or Jipe's?
