. what ? Z80 and 14 Mhz... how coud it be? my msx 1 says that z80 is only 3.54 mhz.. So because i do not understand
then you have to explain to me that. Z80 A is better to be 14 Mhz but rare z80... guys... im wondering what this
comes... how this ends.... More mhz in processor... zilog is a great for msx. keep it in there too.
Updating msx.. you can make a combination for 2 GT too.. just put a cable between them and voila...
But anyway.. Msx should be updated to this day.... HD , www , SD3 . Usb , with all originally 1983 functions

of course.

And by checking the Z280 data sheet, it indeed has the same multiplication instructions using exactly the same opcodes as the R800.

BTW, what about other instructions, can anyoune with debugger and a live Turbo-R check?

Hi! as I said in this thread:

Why not start a kickstarter/indiegogo project to make it more than "just" a hardcore fan product?

The problem is that we are waiting for several projects for years now: the Orbit, this one and more, some of which are now discontinued.
It seems we really have to be patient to see one of those projects to be ready for potential customers.

I understand the difficulties to accomplish these projects, don't get me wrong here, but it's a shame we can't get help from a large company to get it done once and for all Smile

I agree with you. It's a shame. But I think that all these ideas must be empowered.
I'll try to explain.
I think that the authors must put their project on a Crowdfunding project.
For example KICKSTARTER or something like this.
The guys of MSX 3 project maybe would obtain:
- economic help by the community
- motivation to finish the project
The community would obtain:
- a concrete opportunity to see the project become true
- maybe an economic benefit on the MSX3 price
- the honour to see their name in the credit section of the product

Why not? See what's happened to "la mulana 2" project !!

Personally, I don't think doing a Kickstarter project for this would be a very good idea.

Kickstarter would require the project initiators to create a reward tier for their product. Since it's a computer/hardware we're talking about here, it's not going to be extremely cheap.

So as a project creator you're going to have to ask from your backers to put in probably over $100, several months (maybe longer) before they will receive the computer. Of course you could put in less too, but who is actually going to do that? People putting money towards this are most likely people who would actually buy the computer anyway. This is not a mainstream product, it's very much a niche thing. So rather than putting money into the Kickstarter and not receiving anything (or a T-shirt at best), they would most likely save their money and buy the computer whenever they can.

A game like La-Mulana in contrast only requires you to put in $15 of $20 in order to get the game.

That's not to say that they shouldn't organise something. They could hold a official survey where people could express their intent to buy the product, but where they could also state what their preferred final product would be like. And they could of course share more details about the status of their product.

Orbit is very serious, I'm pretty sure it will come and then I will buy it.

Why so negative?? Its just a few weeks since this was announced. Also these guys are known hardware developers so I guess they can do their own math whether they need additional funding or not. And like geerdink said, orbit is also still in the works.

Do remember most people can not live on msxdev'ing alone so they have to cycle between job, family, friends, relaxation and maybe small time left for doing msx stuff.. so just be patient!
