In an important notice about MSXdev'15 José Andrés of MSXblog has announced that due to lack of commitment shown by the judges there will be no official winner to the MSXDev'15 competition. Instead, each participant will receive a souvenir plate and the remainder of the money that was donated as prize money will be distributed evenly among the participants.

With that, the competition that brought us many great MSX1 games in the past - this year no exception with BitLogic, Bubbo World, Ninja Savior and Wing Warriors - came to an appropriate but not completely satisfying conclusion this year. In his announcement, José Andrés (Konamito) expresses his feeling of disappointment regarding this year's edition of MSXDev.

With the long running MSX1 game development competition being one of the best things that happened to the MSX community, it's good news to hear that there is another edition planned to start in September this year. It is up to all of us, the international MSX community, to turn that edition into a great success in every aspect.

Weird... I'll judge ... don't know what the criteria are to be a Judge...

It should be interesting to get some feedback from the 4 judges 'chosen' for this edition. Lack of time, lack of motivation, external pressures, enzovoort ... ?

Frankly, it doesn't really matter to me. The MSXDev'15 competition has for me always been more about releasing games against a certain deadline (and what great games it gave us!) than about glory and winning prizes. I do understand that for some developers it can be an extra motivation, of course.

That said, I think it's much worse that Konamito is now feeling so bummed out. Hang in there, Konamito, your efforts are appreciated quite a bit Smile

So why not compute submited jury reports and raise a poll to get the results for missing categories...?

I'm kind of confused. I was suppose to judge but I, voluntarily, stepped down as there would be too many judges. oO
