It is with great sadness but also a deep respect for the work they have accomplished over the years that I have to announce the departure of two of our long standing administrators, namely Anne de Raad and Sander Zuidema. Both have been key in developing and maintaining the website you are looking at now.

My first contact with Sander Zuidema was somewhere at the end of 1999. From 1996 onwards this website was still a collection of links and some small articles, just programmed in static html. I placed an request in 1999 asking for help. Sander Zuidema (snout) was, next to Bart Schouten one of the first responders. It's true that the first version of MSX resource center that launched early 2000 was programmed by Bart Schouten (and some by me, Laurens Holst, Antal van Kalleveen and others) in ASP, but later versions used PHP and the migration from ASP to a PHP core was done entirely by Sander Zuidema. Apart from programming and extending the core of msx.org for many years (before we moved to our current platform in 2011), Sander Zuidema was also responsible for most of the newsposts, articles and key to many MSX and MSX related activities and endeavours next to msx.org. Sander devoted half of his life to this website. Mind boggling when you think of it. It is my true belief that his motivations and drive for MSX and this community have always been sincere and without any personal gain in mind. I think I can speak of all of the current MRC crew that we will miss him and wish him good luck, health and fortune for the future. Hopefully he drop by from time to time in the future.

Anne was, apart from adding and managing content also part of the team that organized MSX Event Eleven where we launched the portal you are looking at now and he was key to organizing TYME where we celebrated 30 years of MSX together with some of you. Luckily Anne is still an active user on this portal and a regular visitor of MSX meetings. Thank you Anne for all you have done and we hope to keep seeing you around!

I'm sure I forgot a lot of other activities we have done together over the years, they have put their soul in MSX and msx.org and I'm grateful we can build further on the work and content they have given us.

Thanks guys!

On behalf of the MSX.ORG team,

Sander van Nunen, founder.

Thanks guys, although we don't know each other at all, it's a bit like saying goodbye to a friend that has always been there.
It's quite an achievement to keep a website like this alive for decades. Others have tried and spoken big words, but couldn't deliver. You have. I visit this website at least once a day and nearly every time there's something new to read. I know, the community is responsible for that, but this website is their number one platform. So again, thanks. And all the best. Keep on MSX'ing.

Must definitely use this emoticon: Running Naked in a Field of Flowers

This kind of messages make me feel sad. Thanks you guys for letting us enjoy our favourite computer platform during many years and nowadays. People should really know your dedication and the amazing work you have done here and for the MSX itself. IMHO the MRC has been the key element of the current MSX community in last two decades, without it the MSX scene would be, without a doubt, a fragmented or even decadent scene. Again, thanks!

Latok: good to know you are still active, see you here. Wink
Snout: I hope you still read us from time to time and return in a near future. I dare to say you belong to the MSX legends. Wink

Thanks Snout & Latok for everything here! I have lots of great friends, that I would not even know today, without your work and efforts here. Also I would probably not have re-started coding on MSX without MRC.

Hope to still see you around the MSX scene Smile

Oh my...

I remember the time when Snout was pretty much runnning all the news and stuff and I think those were the best times. There was clear ambition to make the page number one MSX page on the net... and I think it went pretty well... There is now a good, vital MSX community gathered here together and although the news section has gone more quiet after Snout took the backseat the discussions on the forums are doing great! Latok has been less active on news side, but has offered great help on the forums... and that is only what we've seen from the distance. Behind the scenes their roles have been propably even a lot bigger during the years.

It is really hard to see these faces gone from the crew as they've been there since the times MRC started to grow. I can only hope that their child has grown up to cope without them guiding around. Smile

Thank you! I'm well aware that you did a good job! I hope I can still sleep well after these news. MRC is my number one page on internet and I take seriously when ever someone rocks the boat. Those (luckily very few) times MRC has been down for a while I've had very hard time to cope with it.

I really appreciate what you guys have done and I wish all the good to MRC for coming years as well. Snout & Latok: I hope you can now start enjoying the page from visitor perspective like we have done. Smile

Thanks for all the kind words, people. It's been an honor. Like MSX, this website will always have a special place in my heart - it's been a fantastic journey and I'm grateful so many of you tagged along and made the MRC what it is today. Snout, I want to thank you for your devotion in opening the Russian section of MRC.
It helped me to find old and new friends, to meet legendary people from ex-USSR.
I wish you health and luck you need now so much.

When I saw this newspost, at first I thought it's a joke, I said myself - it just cannot be true.
Anyway, you should be glad you brought the MRC to the state it can continue by itself.
Thank you and keep coming here.

I remember I met Anne while working in a recorstore, playing some electro, to which Anne replied that it sounded like msx music, and I replied if he meant psg or scc specifically, which resulted in a lengthy conversation, and me signing up on MRC. I wouldn't have been here if it weren't for that chance encounter and making music on the msx Smile Fond memories as well helping out with the Tyme event in Amsterdam, hope both Anne and Sander will continue to be active members here on MRC Smile

Thanks guys. I started with MSX in the late 80s. I'm 44 now. For a great part of my life, MSX was a lifeline, really. A shield against society. Only since a few years, I've grown up a bit and don't need to boot the system anymore to cope with things. Result of this though is that my feelings towards MSX and its scene became a bit ambivalent. The main reason I decided to retire from the MRC team is that I want to reset these MSX feelings. I hope to go back to basics and, as a balanced person, just enjoy MSX as a great computerplatform. It was all just a little bit too important and that's not healthy.

Looking forward to enjoy MSX and MRC as a regular user and .... well.... love you all, we are forever deeply connected Smile

Anne de Raad was one of my heroes of MSX and i was always nagging for more games and info.
While he was very deep into the programming and translations i was the typical "eindgebruiker"
He often told me to buy original games and help to keep the msx scene going in that way.

Great times.

One love!
