This looks like a picture collection. Not the games.
The MSX Tosec collection is only a few hundred megabyte.

You can click "SHOW ALL" on the right and then "View Contents" to the right of the big zip file. This lets you download the individual zip files contained in the big one.

The games are also available in the same hosting.

The file i am downloading is a 6.7Gb Zip file, I am assuming if i copy it onto a uSD card I can then run the ZIP programs directly using sofarun?

The zip files within the big zip contain only pictures and PDFs, not programs.

You have to use the search function in the site to find the games. That 6GB file does not have any.

Based on TOSEC guidelines, a PIX file should contain everything else that is not a program: photos, scans, documents, manuals, magazines (including Disk Magazines, which in the MSX case are mixed with the MSX files), etc.

As such, the TOSEC_PIX_MSX_2013-04-13.zip you refer contains only a small set of printed magazines and a few manuals. It is big because the scans are gynormous, but you won't find a true MSX collection in it (even the magazine list and manuals are not accurate to what has been cataloged nowadays, missing most of the existing publications).

If you are looking for a true, almost complete MSX Collection, look no further: http://mirrors.pdp-11.ru/_msx/MSX_TOSEC/

Simply download the MSX_TOSEC_2014-02-28.zip and you will have a lot to play with. The MSX_TOSEC_2012-04-23.rar is virtually identical in terms of content, differing only on the folders' structure. The older versions (2009 and 2006) are mostly redundant, may containing some files that were removed or renamed in newer versions of the collection. It is present for legacy and preservation purposes, I suppose.

The MSX_TOSEC_2014-02-28.zip is the one that is currently indexed in the official TOSEC DAT files (TOSEC - DAT Pack - Complete (3012) (TOSEC-v2019-12-24).zip, which you can download here: https://www.tosecdev.org/downloads/category/48-2019-12-24). The well-known website https://file-hunter.com uses the MSX_TOSEC_2012-04-23.rar version as their collection base. So, which one you chose to download will be a great collection to have!

With that, you should be OK for a while. :) Have fun!

Note: Scans of Printed Magazines are not present in the TOSEC collections above, only Digital Magazines. There are many sites where you can find it, but you mostly won't find all in one place as the MSX PIX project seems to have been abandoned since 2013.

Thanks for pointing this out Smile I updated the one on file-hunter.com to the 2014 as well now. I also added the .zip file to the archive directory Smile

Magazines can be found here: https://download.file-hunter.com/Magazines/
