You might find it easier to use sofarun to run ROM files with the C2. I do.
I agree. Using Sofarun is so much easier than flashing to the C2 menu. And if you put your roms into a zip file, you get long filenames support as well.
OK thank you. the intention is to try SofàRun! To do this, do I have to download the SofàRun system files to the main folder in the Compact Flash? then do you always start from MSX-DOS? With the C2MAN application I tried to put the ROMs in a folder inside the main folder, but unfortunately they are not seen! ROM files are seen by the program only if placed in the same root folder. Are they seen in SofàRun even if placed in a sub-folder? Must the folder with the ROMs be compressed ??
Just try it out...
I tried, more Roms of R-Type for msx, but none seem to work with Carnivore2 .. Do you have any specific Roms or indications?
i tried, the following R-Type roms for msx, but none seem to work with Carnivore2:
- R-Type v2 (1988) (Irem) [a] .rom
- R-Type v2 (1988) (Irem) .rom
Only working R-Type and .dsk file, so I think a reduced version compared to .Rom files:
- R-Type (1988) (Irem) .dsk
Anyone know how to indicate a ROM version of R-Type working with Carnivore2 ?? Thank you
Isn't r-type the game that needs the fmpac in either slot 1 or 2? I remember that I used to have the original game and had to switch the cartridges around to have fm sound.. but not sure
There is a bug in R-Type that the built-in FM sound source is not recognized by the MSX models with built-in MSX-MUSIC, but you can play with the FM sound by inserting a FM-PAC in slot 2.
R-Type has a specific mapper that isn't implemented in SofaRun. But I found a version online that was changed to the ASCII16 mapper and that one works fine with Sofarun on the Carnivore 2 (select ASCII16 manually). It even works with MSX-MUSIC.
Can you share this version of R-type working with C2? Thank you
Manuel, Can you at least indicate where to find this R-type ROM working with C2 ?? Thank you
