New batch of Ghost and Prisoner of War

Ever since Matra's online shop ceased business, availability of their MSX games was uncertain. MSX cartridge games Ghost and Prisoner of War have found a new home at the MSX cartridge shop.

It was an unexpected loss, hearing Matra's online shop closed shop. For Francisco Téllez de Meneses aka unepic_fran this meant he had to find a new location for his Ghost and Prisoner of War games. Luckily, the MSX cartridge shop was kind to let them in.

Working together with Manuel Pazos, Francisco managed to setup a second batch of his games to go for sale at the new location. The games are exactly the same as the ones sold by Matra's, but the box cover, cartridge sticker, and user's manual were re-designed.

Both games are available before Christmas'21 at the aforementioned MSX cartridge shop. Prices of the physical editions are €30 for Ghost and €35 for Prisoner of War, with digital editions to follow soon.

Ordered the Ghost cartridge on the 7th, they send it the 9th and it arrived yesterday in NL. Box, manual and cartridge look very nice and professional, not to mention the game itself.

Nice! I've been wanting to play these for a long time, but I prefer downloads, not interested in carts. (I don't like to remove my MegaFlashROM cart if I want to play, and I also don't want to pay for the hardware & shipping.) When the downloads are available, I'll purchase them immediately :-) Hopefully there's a heads-up when this happens!

I ordered the physical! - grin - Smelling that manual..- sniiiiiiiifffffffffffffff - opening that box, looking at that pweaty box, seeing a cartridge of the game...feels like the good old console cartridge days...mmmmmmmm.

Removing and inserting cartridges to adapt your computer to your needs is however the basis of MSXs.

Good to hear, since a lot of people couldn't get their hands on these cartridges yet.

I hope they include in this batch of Ghost the enhancements I made in the patch published here. :)

It is not just removing/inserting cartridge...the feel of console....the box...the physical cartridge, the manual...they all add great experience. Plus, it is hot to know some cartridges have battery to keep your saved game!! - fans face -

I already had Ghost, I ordered Prisoner of War two weeks ago and last week had it at home. Really impressed on how these games take the most of every bit a MSX 1 has to offer, in a similar fashion as Karoshi did and RELEVO does. Kudos to Fran for not "just" technically impressive games, but also really fun to play.
