I have an HB-FB1-II and I'm trying to play SD snatcher in english. I purchased a translation cart from the gentleman who produces the Megaflash rom carts, and I have a copy of SD Snatcher with the sound cart. However, it needs a disk drive to actually save to, and I only have two cart slots. I have an external disk drive for my MSX, but no slot to connect it to. I need a slot extender that'll let me connect both the sound cart and an external disk drive to my MSX at the same time.
I apologize for looking so green here, but I'm not sure how to update or edit a topic. In any case, I've got a slot extender now, so this topic isn't needed anymore.
What is that 'translation cart'? I think it should include the sound cart.... (built in)
I honestly can't find any information on it anymore. I know I purchased it in 2012, alongside my Megaflash rom. It came in a nice box with artwork and everything, it looks like a tiny version of the normal SD Snatcher box. I'll snap a pic of it later on tonight, I'm at the office right now. But no, the thing doesn't boot without the sound cart. Trust me, I've tried.

It's price is 35 euro, plus 5 euro more of combined shipping with MegaFlashROM.
But bear in mind that you need an MSX with SD/MMC card reader, or Compact Flash, IDE, etc... to write the cartridge with a 2MByte ROM file.
I can send the cartridge with SD Snatcher in it if you can't write the cartridge. Do you want the cracked version (you need 128KB RAM) or the non cracked version (64KB RAM + original SD Snatcher Sound Cartridge)?

Oh, I didn't realize I needed such a big storage medium to write the game in the first place. Please do send the cart with an english translation of SD Snatcher included. I'm a pretty big gaming collector, so I don't see worth in owning a reproduction cart unless I also own the real game to begin with. I just bought a copy of SD Snatcher boxed with the disks and the Sound cart included, so I'd prefer the non-cracked version that can run on 64 kb. I really appreciate your offer to flash the rom for me as well. With the normal megaflashrom, my friend can flash that for me, so you can send that one empty.
So that would be why I need the Sound cart, haha. Either way, I've tried booting without the sound cart and it's a no-go. When I pop the sound cart in it boots without problem.
Like I said, I have a slot extender coming so now I'll finally be able to save in SD Snatcher.
I think I've the same game as you but it boots well. Of course the game includes the sound cart (built in).
At boot you can choose the TV system (50 or 60hz), the sound cartridge (SCC or SCC+) and the slot.
It's very well made and of course works without an original SCC+ or a single SCC.
Maybe, try to clean your connector and your cartridge.

Still, I'll give this topic an update when I get home. The translation cart I got looks ace, I love the packaging it comes in.
