For the fifth year in a row, Konamito organizes an MSX-BASIC game development competition. Previous edition of the competition, with releases such as Pérez the Mouse and Pesadilla proved that even in a high-level programming language like MSX-BASIC, it is possible to create entertaining games.
The rules of this year's edition are simple. Everyone can join, and submit as many entries as they like. Joining the competition instantly makes you a member of the jury as well, so it's really a matter of developers rating developers. Submitted games have to be completely original (so no ripped GFX or music) and only a very small snippet of assembly code, provided by the organization, is allowed to be used in order to load graphics faster. The complete rules and guideline to submitting finished entries can be found over here in Spanish. The competition closes on December 31st, 23:59:59 GMT.
