ZX-81, known for his many open source emulator ports for recent portable devices like the GP2X and PlayStation Portable, has released an MSX emulator for the GP2X Wiz (the successor to the GP2X). Wiz-MSX is a port of ZX-81's own PSPMSX, which is a port of Vincent van Dam's fMSX-SDL, which is a port of (what else) Marat Fayzullin's fMSX.
Compared to his MSX emulator for the GP2X-F100, these are the most significant changes:
- Cheat support and a memory monitoring engine to find your own cheat code
- Text editor to write your own comments on games
- Improved file requester with virtual keyboard to choose rom files beginning with a given letter
- Add gzipped disk file support, reducing disk file size from 700k to 50k
