The first entry in the brand new MSX Freestyle category, ΧΙ∧∃Χ (Zevimodoki) by GW's Workshop is a homage to Namco classic Xevious. Xevious also got an MSX release, which was an interesting joint effort between Namco and Compile. Notable as well is Zemina's Xevious Micro.

After the example of its inspirator, this game has some easter eggs in store for the dedicated and exploring player.

Are you working on an MSX game, or even have one finished? Please consider to submit your work as an entry for this legendary MSX contest, and have the guarantee of a wide audience as possible, gain the attention of potential cartridge producers and even contend to win some prizes!

Maybe do a check if an MSX1 is found... if so write on screen that the screen is only MSX2 and above (on error gosub routine in the loader)

I'm very delighted that guys seem to enjoy my ΧΙ∧∃Χ . Well, I respectfully announce a minor version up will be available soon, featuring as follows.

- Implemented sprite rotator.
It improves disappearance of horizontal sprites, especially enemies' bullets.
- Added a new enemy; type-B.
It is equivalent to GARU ZAKATO of XEVIOUS. I'm sure no explanation is needed any more.
- Implemented MSX version check while loading, thanks for Vampier's intelligent quip.

By the way, has anybody brought down the boss protected by three revolving gears?

Of course I know. And then I was sure XVM also came after XeVious Modoki. As Naoki wrote in the other topic, "modoki" means "imitation" in Japanese. I wonder, comparison of Xevious clones or homages including mine, clearly shows what is the essential of Xevious like shooter for each author at least.

Oh, my dear David! If you didn't have strongly recommended me to join in the contest, the game would have had been stored only on my YouTube channel. As the result I got much more positive response than I expected. That made me surprised with a great pleasure. Not only that, but you gave me the most helpful suggestions to the beta version. Everyone should know Imanok is the second parent of this game.
