ESE MSX 3 is the OCM. It's the project that ASCII / MSX Associatiion used as a starting point for the ocm.

You can see here some pictures, showing that the ocm and the ese msx 3 are essencialy the same.

One more picture of the ESE MSX 3 can be seen here, very similar to the OCM ;)

In that images you can see the prototipes of both ESE & OCM, now OCM & ESE are the same with a diferent label, you can see them in the start of the last msx user meeting video:

ESE Artist factory started with ESE-MSX development long before MSX Association got involved.

They first made a simple prototype to test many aspects and develop individual components. It contained a small FPGA that could not contain all MSX chips together. That was called the ESE MSX System 1.

Then they made a new board with a bigger FPGA for further integration purposes. This second prototype was the system 2.

As a last step, they made another board with again a bigger FPGA. This was the ESE MSX System 3.

By that time MSX Association got involved and they worked together with ESE Artist factory to bring the design into production, with help of D2E company. At that moment a more commercial appealing name had to be chosen.

That is why the name OCM exists for the "commercialized" version but why the name ESE MSX System 3 also still exists.

So, I was there today!

Drank some beers, played some MSX game tunes on the piano.

Got destroyed by Manuel in the Puyo Puyo contest.

Looked at interesting new and old games being demonstrated & plugged my own shit as well.

Met old friends, as well as MSX acquintances (like Dioniso) in person.

Gathered a lot of information about the new ESE / OCM generation.

Where were you guys? Smile

Promise me to come next time!!! Big smile

Wasn't there...
Had a busy day at home.
Might come to Bussum though, but I won't promise Wink
Might even release a Moonblaster 1.4 musicdisk there, which I can't promise cuz the coding and drawing is out of my hands Wink

BTW: Feel like adopting a few tunes? My counter is somewhere between the 20 and 30 tunes now... Additions are welcome Big smile
