MSX in the Media Challenge - Second edition

Earlier today we closed the first round of the MSX in the Media Challenge, which resulted in a grand total of 80 nominations. Over here you can vote for which MSX in the Media event you liked the most. As we want to keep reporting about MSX getting in media that usually don't report about MSX and as we would like to stimulate people to try and get MSX in such media we have just started the second edition of the MSX in the Media Challenge.

This time, we will not be nominating every single event of MSX getting in the media. Instead, the event that gets MSX in the Media (e.g. a new release of openMSX, MSX Association announcing the One Chip MSX1, etc...) is what counts in the MSX in the Media Challenge from now on. The media that reported on these events will be listed at these nominations. As more media decide to report on a certain event they will be added to that single nomination in the forum thread that contains all nominees.

There is a small fineprint to this year's MSX in the Media Challenge as well: Only media that usually don't report about MSX can contain valid nominations to the MSX in the Media Challenge. MSX Resource Center can, for instance, never be a valid nominee. Emulation sites are considered to be media that usually report on MSX. On these sites, only posts that go beyond the usual '[emulator name] - new version, here's the changelog, here's the download link' can potentially be MSX in the Media nominations. In most cases blogs and other personal websites will not be considered as media. Last but not least, an entry to the MSX in the Media Challenge is only valid when it was published during the period in which the challenge is running. The second edition of the MSX in the Media Challenge will run from December 5th, 2004 to November 31st, 2005, 23:59 CET.

As with every challenge, there are cool prizes that can be won. The person or company that is responsible for the event that gets the coolest attention in the Media (according to a megapoll) will be called MSX Ambassador of the Year. We will also reward the person who spotted the most events of MSX in the Media and the person who managed to get the most attention to MSX in the Media. Both the MSX Ambassador of the Year, the person who got and the person who spotted the most MSX in the media will receive a free, official MSX T-Shirt and (if they are members of the MRC) will receive a special Pennie-icon next to their name in the MRC Forums for a full year.
