Best MSX2 game ever [finals]

On April 18th we started our very first mega-poll ever. The regular visitors of the MSX Resource Center could nominate a list of MSX1 games and vote for their personal favorites during several rounds of voting. The games that received the highest amount of votes moved on to next rounds. After 7 rounds of voting 4 remained. A poll on the frontpage decided which was the best MSX1 game ever. As you can see in the results, Penguin Adventure won this mega-poll.

The success of this mega-poll caused a logical next step: A mega-poll for the best MSX2 game ever. After the nominations, we started the first round of voting on june 14th. After six tough rounds in which we received many, many votes only 4 games remain. This means it's time to start the finale on our frontpage poll. The 4 remaining games are:

  • Aleste 2 (Compile)
  • Metal Gear (Konami)
  • SD-Snatcher (Konami)
  • Usas (Konami)

For the coming weeks you can decide which game can call itself the Best MSX2 game ever! Happy voting!!

uhm, sd-snatcher has already more votes than the other 3 games together... Smile

Maybe so. A bit too premature to say that. Though you might have said the same when Solid Snake made it to the finals.

The final has a different scoring, because there are 4 games and only 1 choice. I assure you, each of the games in the final is able to win 1st place.

I don't think so. SD-Snatcher will win, because it's really a extra-ordinary game.
Some people had therefore suggested to consider this game out of this poll (and the same for Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake)
As this is not the case, we must consider that the real competition is for the second place

WTF is up with this crap! If SD Snatcher is the best game, then so be it! Why should it be left out from the poll? If it's the best game, it deserves to win! If we should leave out both SD Snatcher and Solid Snake, then this poll wouldn't be real!! And btw, we might end up being suprised...

If you look at the temporary results, then you can see that there's a great battle for the second place between Aleste 2 and Metal Gear .....
Indeed, a non-Konami game could be the best, if we forget SD-Snatcher of course !
It seems me very interesting ! It proves that there are also excellent non-Konami games ....

Seems like the gap between SD Snatcher and Metal Gear is narrowing. Even Aleste 2 is not out of the running. Too bas Usas can't compete...
