Whereas most people know Yukio as an MRC regular who frequently posts lots of stuff on our active MSX Forum, he has now started to release MSX software by the bulk. In the past few hours we received no less than 3 news posts on Yukio releases created in MSX-BASIC, using small machine code routines along the lines.
- Blocos - A clone of the portable Brick Game, in which you have to move blocks about in a field of moving blocks. Somehow it kind of reminds you of Frogger
- Caverna - A cave game in which you have to evade falling stalactites
- Cars (preview) - An in-development-version racing game in which you have to move your car about through unpredictable corners
All games roughly evolve around the same principle and could use some polishing (hitting an 'enemy'-object, for example results in a return-to-BASIC), but if Yukio's development productivity can get anywhere near his posting-capabilities we're in for quite a few upcoming releases. Having all taken our first steps of development in MSX-BASIC, who knows what the future may bring ;)
