Since its creation, a few weeks ago, the new game brand RELEVO Videogames has been quite active. RELEVO has been founded by Jon Cortázar, who is a former member of the Karoshi Corporation, and who is generally well known for his MSX1 artwork where tiles and sprites melt together to form pixel-perfect images. An overview of RELEVO activities in the last weeks:

On Saturday the 25th of July, right after the launch of La Corona Encantada final versions for MSX and ZX Spectrum, Jon Cortázar gave a lecture at the yearly Euskal Encounter 17 event (Barakaldo, BEC!). The lecture was a brief overview of the whole Karoshi history and its milestones. Special attention of this lecture went to the creation process of the project La Corona Encantada, development details, final production and all the media attention gathered by the game. Some images from the event can be seen here.

Recognizing the interest of that lecture, the DEIA newspaper (the second biggest newspaper distributed in the Basque Country) used its digital edition to publish an interview with Jon, focusing on his new trajectory and on the new game La Corona Encantada. This interview has become quite successful, as this newspaper is common media, not even related to the gaming scene at all.

Meanwhile, RELEVO has initiated new game projects! There's news about the previously announced entry for MSXdev'09: Ba-Boon!. José Vicente Masó (WYZ), a former member of the recently discontinued team CEZ GS, will be responsible for all the music, while Ángel Sainz, a talented amateur illustrator, will be doing the graphics. Some of the first sketches for the game characters were shown days ago, unveiling the look and feel of the game. A preliminary game cover has been published at the RELEVO website, showing final artwork containing the game logo and the main character. According to the website, there will be game screenshots soon. All the more reasons to stay tuned, as it seems that there is a lot of action to expect from this newborn game brand!
