All scalers have been optimized by Wouter with a noticeable increase of the framerate.
The code, according to the complexity (number of vertical segments) of the column and to its length decides on fly if use HMMC or HMMV commands to render it
The same for sprites: no clipping yet for them, so distortion occurs when they are too close.

Hmm, it hangs up at loading time... (unlike the version of earlier today)

Probably it takes too much ram
try to boot pressing CTRL

This version is smaller (less details in doom textures) and should run under any condition

Now sprites are correctly zoomed, all credits go to Wouter who did real asm miracles

I just run it and it's insanely impressive! Kudos for both ARTRAG and Wouter!

Also with CTRL it hung up.

The new version works very well! And I actually managed to locate one enemy this time... (I got lost in the maze Tongue). Very impressive! What's the next step?

Impressive. I thought it impossible, but you managed to prove me wrong: texturized raycaster for Turbo-R is a fact. Time for an improved Wolfenstein?

https://sites.google.com/site/testmsx/msx2-doom/mz3d_dos_2011_11_18_good_TRtextures.rar?attredirects=0&d=1

Here we use the textures and enemies from an msx1 project: Terror Revelation (in short TR)
The main feature of the game was that walls and items would have had 3d dynamic perspective according to their position on the screen
Apart the coincidence in the name (TR textures for a TR game), textures fit very well with the characteristics of the rendering engine.

In fact the overall framerate is a bit higher than in the doom case, especially when sprites and wall are zoomed.
I think that in the end the graphic will be much closer to this latter sample than to the doom test.

(to not say that TR textures take much less ram ;-)
