The WIki says that the VG 8230 was the 2nd MSX2 by Philips and the NMS 8220 the first. I think it's wrong, the 8230 was the first, the 8235 second. Not sure about the rest of the order though, but it's pretty clear when looking at the review in magazines.

Or did I miss something and is there some proof that the wiki is correct?

Cool Smile. Did Yamaha back then, provide som demos or software kit for it? Does it work just as GFX9000 board or uses different ports...? Just curious Smile

Iirc this one has the oscillators for all the modes (640x480) can't be used on the gfx9000. Also this board has 256KB rom with char sets, which the v9990 has a special command for

Maxis,
Thank you very much! If you can take better pictures of the two faces I'll be very happy. (Particularly for the interface I thought homemade but it is not the case)

The ROM was scheduled as standard, but Sunrise withdrew it to make a cheaper cartridge.

Hi, GDX,

Took a few zoomed photos of the board and the interface. You can find it inhere
https://flic.kr/s/aHskHHoKWC

Also you will see the Fujitsu character generator ROMs. Small vertical bars are the Toshiba TC524256AZ-10 VRAMs.

I just found a Philips newsletter and it says the 8230 is available from 1-1-1986 as the first MSX2 machine.
