I've seen pictures of one with a housing around the PCB, that's the one I'm looking for.

Housing would be nice, but it looks nice and slim though (and affordable), I’m sure with a little plastic and/or duck tape or something I can concoct something that’ll protect it from the elements Smile.

OK, if I need to perform some DIY I think I'll just mod the actual joypad myself instead. Serves the same purpose, doesn't it?

I think just the modifications on page 0 don’t allow you to use the additional buttons though, which I think is a pretty neat JoyMega feature.

I made a dozen of these:

I do it for fun, but it takes much time to build & assemble, so I'm not planning to sell it, but I can provide the parts list for those interested in.

Note that if you go for DB9 plugs like I did you will need a cable extender/ port saver in order to plug it in your MSX ! (like this one)

Valkyre so those adapters support all 8 buttons of a megadrive joypad? (abcxyzmodestart)

Will a Sega pad + JoyMega work on an Amiga1200? I know that the Commodore joystick ports only support one button, but apart from that the MSX and Commodore joysticks are usually interchangeable, no?

No JoyMega will not work with a1200 without another adapter. MSX and Amiga both have two buttons, but pinout is different. You can compare Amiga and MSX joystick pinouts

Sega Master System pad works without any adapters with A1200, but it is not safe to use Genesis/MD pads without any. I build simple adapter to convert Master System two button joystick for MSX. Above pinout-link has it described. I have used Lynx USB-adapter with USB-pad with MSX with this adapter.

For A1200 I would recommend CD32 compatible pad/adapter. It is very handy for CD32 games which works with A1200. Following is cheap and easily build project for adapt Megadrive pad to CD32. ..and it works reasonably well.

Older Amigas rewiring JoyMega would be enough.
