ok
im totally new to this

i got a philips 8250 from my dad (bas kornalijslijper expanded the memory to 256 K

i bought some catridges for it (nemesis2,salamander,parodius,maze of galious,SD snatcher,F1spirit)

i also bought a sunrise CF interface
on it is a working DOS 2.41

i put some games on it
parodius
rollerball
strategic mars

and of course a few more

but
most of them wont work

i suspect its a memory problem since they work when ran from floppy without the CF interface

but im not sure

now my question:
how do i need to set up this system so i can play the games

or better yet
where can i get info on how to do that?

thanks

Hi !

Have a look here:

http://members.home.nl/the.incantation/#(Mega)ROM%20Emulation

Just try the program LoadROM1.8 ;-)
I use it with my CF and it's cool !!!

I have problems too with some roms but I fixed it in installing Multimente 2.07 and use Megamu. But if I remember, Megamu is for Turbo-R only.

Perhaps your roms don't work well. Have you test them with an Msx emulator on your Pc ?

Another tip will be the Msxdos2 version you use but I'm not sure. Mine is 2.32 and my roms are in *.ko8 / *.ks8 format and I use them without problems on the GT with Megamu.

Good luck !!!

Rom emulation often requires much more ram than the size of the rom. I think you need an amount of *free* memory of twice the size of the rom.

Right about the ram problem ;-)

Try to find help in this not-so-old topic ;-)

another workaround is not using the .ROM format and download the cracked versions..

that would not be a problem if you own the original Big smile

If you own the original, why not USE that original instead... It's much easier and much faster... far-pre-win95 technology which does what it says... Plug&Play... power of cartridges Wink

The original could be broken. Or maybe the slot doesn't work properly. Tongue
