Let's use some logic here. Each block is 16kb, I get an error when trying to write block 8, so it means the error should be on A17. A17 from the chip is connected to pin 2 on the ascii mapper chip buuut... it's not
So there it is, multimeter confirms loose soldering between those pins. Let me try to solder it again (I'm bad at soldering but doesn't hurt to try).
And it works
Now to find some ascii16 2mb rom to flash it. I assume pointless fighting would work?
Yes, pointless fighting works, so the hardware is fine! Now I'm going to port Aleste 2 from konami mapper to ascii16.
Great !
Sorry for the bad solder point !
Hello ricbit
Did you finally convert the rom into a Ascii mapper rom file ?
Not really. This week I'm going to a fablab to make a hole in the cartridge case for the switch. Right now my cartridge has an ugly wire sticking out of the case:
Any updates on this project?
Nope, not yet. But keep in mind the game is already fully playable if you have a 2mb megaram cartridge, what's missing is only the 8kb mapper for ascii flash carts.
Thanks for the update!
Unfortunately I can't get past the intro screen on my real Turbo R ST with the Megaflashrom SCC+ SD 512.
Hope you find time to fix these nasty compatibility issues.
Is the megaflashrom scc+sd 512 emulated on openmsx? I can fix easily anything that I can reproduce on openmsx.
