Last year I was distributor for the Korean DalSoRi which seems a success as 40 pieces were sold in one year!
Right now I have another project, as I wanted to replace the annoying diskdrive from my spare Turbo-R which had a rubber belt and has to be replaced once in a while. I started to search for a solution and found a guy which could make a nice PCB adapter for connecting PC diskdrives to our beloved Panasonic 2+ and Turbo-R models from 34-pin to 24-pin.
Also I wanted to have the dust cover available in black color, black eject button and it must be 100% compatible with these machines as we need the ready signal for correct operation. I found this drive as NEC FD-1231H. It is compatible with both 360kB and 720kB disks.
The guy I found has now a special MSX version of the adapter which only need a PC diskdrive having the ready signal activated. DS0 and disk change are managed with the PCB adapter.
Here are some pictures of it installed in my Turbo-R ST. Now I don't need to replace the rubber belt anymore.
If you want the adapter and/or NEC diskdrive, please contact me. I would like to have at least 10 people interested, to keep the price reasonable.
