I have just one phrase to say: let people say what they think about DSK-PRO 9.0 and it's PDI support.
Is that fair enough?

Better go for natively support the pre-existent format, the tool has its future in that, to insist with the PDI subset will just mean that your tool has double-code than the necessary for handling both subset/superset, wasting value RAM space.

I think that the DSK-PRO 9 will be an interesting software that I will certainly give a try some day. After all, there are no many copying software that try to overcome the obstacles of the standard and the few have been very specific for certain hardware. Has there been any attempts to do more generic program for this purpose after FastCopy? I don't know, but I must say I have not followed the issue for a long time.

What comes to this PDI-format, it seems a bit sad story of a format that managed to get ridiculously bad reputation even before final version of it or first software supporting it came out. It should be hard for anyone to mess up like this, but combining bad attitude, bad specs & solid bone head seems to make it possible. As saving loaded data from memory to a file on a filesystem has not been as it self worth news in 50+ years, I think we should leave the discussion about the format now for good.

As I said the new DSK-PRO it self might be something that deserves a little less bashing, but let's see... Now we know where many of the pitfalls are and it makes it a bit less interesting, but still it might not be horribly wrong while comparing with existing options on MSX... At least I hope so.

If PDI is so bad as you say, what the hell are you doing here?
Try to create new useful tools for MSX users instead of being jealous about others good work.
